the opportunity

The Mechanical Design Engineer strives to balance superior design and speed to market with cost, manufacturability, and the highest-quality products always top of mind. This team member is highly skilled in planning and organization, critical thinking, decision-making, and influencing others at Server Products to understand and meet the required engineering needs.

Responsibilities

• Design new products and redesign existing products, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, andwithin cost constraints
• Review and interpret customerspecifications and requests
• Ensure conformance to all required safety certifications (ie, UL, NSF, CE), and companystandards for qualityand manufacturability
• Utilizes future-forward thinking with the company’s goals in mind when developing new products
• Manages their project(s) from start to finish while providing updates to leadership
• Create productmodels and designlayouts in the computerized system
• Review drawings for critical dimensions, views, and specifications when required
• Assist in developing timelysolutions to product development, manufacturing floor, and technical support questions
• Evaluate/select components for products based on the appropriate specifications and certifications
• Assist in training team members to meet established standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or design engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with new product development
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to customers’ sites
• Experience in 3D CAD Modeling
• Strong knowledge of engineering and quality methodologies (DFMEA, Design Reviews, Tolerance Stack-Ups)
• Proven leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Professional attitude when approaching work assignments
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks
