Digital Accessibility & Document Remediation Specialist

Job Overview:

• Seeking an experienced Digital Accessibility & Document Remediation Specialist to remediate documents, PDFs, forms, and digital materials in accordance with Section 504 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remediate Word documents, PDFs, scanned documents, and fillable forms for accessibility.
• Apply proper headings, reading order, tables, tags, labels, and logical tab order.
• Correct OCR issues and improve accessibility of scanned/image-based PDFs.
• Add appropriate alt text and address visual accessibility and color contrast.
• Perform accessibility checks and basic screen-reader/keyboard testing.
• Maintain remediation trackers and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding VPATs/ACRs, accessibility gaps, and remediation plans.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with document/PDF accessibility remediation.
• Strong Microsoft Word and PDF skills.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 504.
• Strong organization, documentation, and vendor coordination skills. xevrcyc
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technology is preferred.
