Job Description

Do you test, maintain or inspect switchgear? Your skills are in demand in Data Center commissioning and Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC).

I am working with a global leading provider of commissioning & Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) services in the data center and mission critical environment industry - they are looking to expand their Data Center Commissioning team and their QA/QC management team in the US.

They're looking for hands-on electrical people to help make sure critical facilities are built right and work right.

Your switchgear background is a strong starting point. You already know what a correct installation looks like, how to check equipment against drawings and settings, and how to prove it works. That's the core of both commissioning and QA/QC.

The roles:

Quality and inspection

  • Walking the site and checking the installation against the plans and specifications
  • Writing field reports on project status and compliance
  • Raising punch lists and recommending corrective action
  • Preparing general condition survey reports
  • Reviewing shop drawings and submittals

Testing and commissioning

  • Witnessing static and dynamic testing of electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators and medium and high voltage equipment.
  • Carrying out test procedures and deciding pass/fail against the specification
  • Fault-finding on site

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems.

If you haven't commissioned before but have a strong technical background, such as switchgear testing, maintenance, installation or inspection, we still want to hear from you

  • A good eye for detail when checking installations against drawings and specs
  • Fault-finding experience across integrated systems. Switchgear, UPS and generators

Why make the move?

Data centers are one of the fastest-growing areas for electrical professionals. This role uses what you already know about switchgear in both quality inspection and commissioning, and you'll follow projects from installation through testing to handover.

If you've worked on switchgear and want to take that experience into data centers, apply now.
