Commercial Service Operations Manager

A commercial and industrial mechanical services company is seeking a Commercial Service Operations Manager to lead daily operations and help grow its service and maintenance department.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can organize teams, improve processes, resolve customer issues and build an accountable operation. The department supports commercial HVAC/R, plumbing and mechanical services. Experience in these trades is valuable, but candidates with strong operational leadership and commercial customer service experience will also be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Own daily department operations, including scheduling, coordination and service delivery.


• Work closely with technicians, project teams and leadership to keep work organized and address operational issues.


• Establish clear expectations and accountability for responsiveness, execution and customer satisfaction.


• Serve as a key contact for commercial and industrial customers, resolving concerns and building lasting relationships.


• Improve workflows and processes to support reliable service and department growth.


• Help develop the service and maintenance team as the operation expands.


• Identify opportunities to retain customers, expand existing relationships and grow service revenue.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–7+ years of experience in operations, service delivery, department management or a related leadership role.


• Experience leading teams that serve commercial or industrial customers.


• Strong scheduling, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.


• A record of improving operations, developing teams and taking ownership of results.


• Confidence handling customer issues and coordinating practical solutions.


• Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Service Manager, Project Manager or similar leader.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial HVAC/R, plumbing, mechanical services or facilities maintenance.


• Service agreements, maintenance contracts or recurring service operations.


• Building or expanding a service department.

Direct construction or trade experience is preferred but is not required for a candidate with exceptional operational leadership and commercial customer service experience.
