✈️ Walt’s Avionics is Hiring – A&P / Avionics Technician
? Carlsbad, CA – McClellan-Palomar Airport (KCRQ)
? Full-Time | On-Site
? Pay based on experience and skill level
Walt’s Avionics is looking for a motivated A&P Technician with hands-on general aviation experience to join our growing team in Carlsbad, California.
We’re especially interested in technicians with experience in avionics, aircraft electrical and wiring, sheet metal, fabrication, or aircraft restoration. Garmin installation experience is highly desirable.
You don't need to be an expert in every area. If you have a strong background in one or more of these fields, a good attitude, and the motivation to continue learning, we want to hear from you.
Our work goes beyond routine oil changes, tires, and scheduled maintenance. We specialize in custom projects where you'll have the opportunity to build, troubleshoot, fabricate, and use your problem-solving skills.
Projects may include:
One project may have you fabricating and wiring a new instrument panel, while the next could involve installing an autopilot, troubleshooting a difficult electrical problem, or helping completely modernize an older aircraft.
Experience with Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, and other general aviation aircraft is a plus.
Experience performing 14 CFR 91.411 and 91.413 pitot/static and transponder testing and inspections is also a plus.
We're particularly interested in applicants with experience installing, configuring, or troubleshooting Garmin equipment, including:
Walt’s Avionics is a growing FAA-certified repair station and Garmin dealer based at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, CA. We specialize in avionics installations, aircraft electrical systems, troubleshooting, custom fabrication, and aircraft modernization.
Our work is hands-on and project-driven. Our technicians have the opportunity to be involved in the entire project—from initial teardown and fabrication through wiring, installation, configuration, testing, and return to service.
As a newer company in a major growth phase, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with the business and take pride in the work that leaves our hangar.
We value craftsmanship, problem-solving, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. You don't need to know everything—we're willing to teach and develop the right person—but you do need to bring a strong work ethic, be teachable, and want to continually improve your skills.
If you're an A&P with experience in Garmin avionics, aircraft electrical and wiring, sheet metal, fabrication, or general aviation maintenance, we'd like to hear from you.
If you enjoy building and troubleshooting more than simply performing routine maintenance, you'll fit well with the type of work we do.
Walt’s Avionics is a newer company in a significant growth phase, and we're looking for people interested in growing along with us.
