The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and leading the month-end close process. This role manages a team of accounting professionals and serves as a key partner to finance and operational leaders to support the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close Process

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances.
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors.
  • Assist with SOX compliance activities, if applicable.

Operational Accounting

  • Oversee fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, leases, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Partner with AP, AR, and Treasury teams to ensure operational efficiency.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support ERP implementations, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and executive leadership on reporting and analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects.
  • Provide management with financial insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 2-5 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience managing month-end close for a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a company with $250M+ revenue.
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm preferred).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Workday. xevrcyc
