Field Services Engineer

Growing Groves is partnering with a well-known leader in heat treat equipment manufacturing to find a Field Service Engineer for their team. This is a role for a technical professional who thrives on a consistently varied environment and set of challenges.

Company and Position Summary

Our client is a leader in the heat treat industry, known for offering challenging career opportunities and deep professional training. They are seeking a Field Sales Technician/Engineer to join cross-functional teams to support aftermarket and new installs of heat treat equipment. You'll also be a critical liaison between the customer and the internal engineering teams, ensuring that the customer's technical needs are met with the best possible solution.

Location: Remote with smooth airport access

Territory: North America

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Consistent travel to customer sites (average 3 days for service, longer for installs)
• Service and support of the atmospheric and vacuum heat treat equipment lines
• New machine install, set up, and first run
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams with complex support/install needs
• Coordinate layout with customer for new installs
• Provide operation demonstration to customers
• When not traveling, use home office to support remote customer issues, revise internal documentation, etc.

Position Requirements

• 5+ years of proven industrial field service experience on heavy capital equipment
• Deep mechanical experience w/ interest or experience in learning electrical
• Strong aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship-driven business.
• Willingness to regularly travel to customer sites
• Self-directed and organized with the ability to work independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Position Preferences

• Related engineering degree
• Experience with heat treat equipment (or thermal processing, industrial HVAC, etc.)
• Experience with PLCs

• Hourly rate based on 40/hour week minimum with consistent opportunities for OT (1.5x after 8-hour weekday, 1.5X Saturday, 1.5X Sunday)
• Experience Based Compensation: Up to $55/hour
