Health Insurance Agent (Remote)

Family Benefits Center is expanding our remote advisor team and is looking for experienced, licensed Health Insurance Agents to support members through scheduled health plan advisements.

We provide 100% of the appointments and schedule them for you.

No cold calling.

No door knocking.

No buying leads.

No outbound prospecting.

Your focus is simple: show up prepared, speak with scheduled members, understand their healthcare needs, explain available plan options clearly and compliantly, and help guide them through the enrollment process.

Advisements are typically 10–20 minute scheduled calls, and agents are paid $40 for each completed advisement.

This is a fully remote 1099 independent contractor opportunity designed for experienced health insurance professionals who are confident on the phone, dependable with scheduled appointments, and comfortable assisting members across multiple states.

Spanish-speaking agents are highly encouraged to apply and may qualify for an additional $5 per eligible Spanish-language advisement.

We are also offering a $500 OEP bonus, paid at the conclusion of OEP to eligible agents who successfully complete the season and remain active and in good standing with Family Benefits Center.

What You'll Do

• Conduct scheduled phone or virtual health insurance advisements.
• Review each member's healthcare needs, budget, eligibility, and available plan options.
• Explain coverage, benefits, premiums, limitations, and other important plan information clearly.
• Help members understand their available options and make informed coverage decisions.
• Assist with the enrollment process when applicable.
• Accurately document each completed advisement.
• Complete any necessary follow-up related to the advisement.
• Attend scheduled appointments consistently and on time.
• Maintain professional communication with members and partner teams.
• Follow all applicable carrier, state, federal, privacy, and company compliance requirements.
• Participate in required training and product or process updates.

Required Qualifications

This is not an entry-level insurance position.

Applicants must have:

• An active Health Insurance Producer License
• Previous health insurance experience
• Active health insurance licenses in a minimum of 5 states
• Experience discussing health insurance plans with consumers
• Experience conducting consultations by phone or virtually
• Strong understanding of health insurance terminology and enrollment processes
• Strong communication and client-service skills
• Ability to explain insurance coverage clearly and compliantly
• Dependability with scheduled appointments
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Reliable computer
• High-speed internet connection
• Quiet and professional workspace
• Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor

Highly Preferred

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Ability to conduct a complete health insurance advisement in Spanish
• Individual & Family Plan experience
• ACA/Marketplace experience
• Medicare experience
• Private health insurance or short-term medical experience
• Remote insurance or telesales experience
• 10–12+ active state licenses

Agents with broader multi-state licensing may have access to a larger pool of available appointments.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor position paid per completed advisement.

$40 Per Completed Advisement

Agents receive $40 for each completed, eligible advisement in accordance with Family Benefits Center's compensation and documentation requirements.

Advisements are generally scheduled for approximately 10–20 minutes, although actual call length may vary depending on the member's needs.

There is no hourly wage or guaranteed number of appointments. Appointment volume may vary based on member demand, scheduling availability, state licensing, seasonality, and business needs.

$500 OEP Bonus

Eligible agents will receive a $500 bonus at the conclusion of OEP after successfully completing the season and remaining active and in good standing with Family Benefits Center through the applicable bonus period.

Spanish-Language Advisements

Agents who are fluent in Spanish and able to conduct a complete advisement in Spanish may qualify for an additional $5 per eligible Spanish-language advisement.

That means an eligible Spanish-language advisement may pay $45 total.

• Have multiple state licenses and want access to scheduled member advisements during OEP.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 active state health insurance licenses to be considered. Candidates with 10–12+ states will be highly prioritized.
