Pay Rate: $36.00–$54.00 per hour, based on experience

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000 for eligible full-time hires, paid over 2 years


Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced RN Educator – ICU for a full-time opportunity in Rock Hill, SC. This position plays a key role in supporting the education, orientation, competency, and ongoing professional development of nursing staff.

Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the RN Educator partners with nursing leadership and clinical teams to assess educational needs and develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate training programs. This role will primarily support assigned nursing units through classroom instruction, clinical education, continuing education, in-services, and other professional development initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong bedside ICU or Medical/Surgical background who is passionate about clinical education, staff development, and improving nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess educational and professional development needs for nursing staff within assigned units and clinical areas.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs.
  • Support new-hire orientation, clinical onboarding, competency development, and continuing education.
  • Facilitate classroom instruction, clinical learning experiences, in-services, and technology-based education.
  • Develop and revise educational content based on clinical needs, regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and current evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure educational programs and course revisions meet Department of Nursing and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Apply adult learning principles and nursing education best practices when developing and delivering educational programs.
  • Serve as a clinical education resource for nursing leadership and frontline staff.
  • Provide consultation and support for continuing education, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Coordinate specialty education, Grand Rounds, in-services, job-specific training, and other clinical learning programs as needed.
  • Promote nursing competency, professional growth, patient safety, and high-quality clinical care.
  • Stay current on nursing education research, clinical practices, and national education standards.
  • Participate in committees, councils, workgroups, and organizational improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a bedside ICU or Medical/Surgical setting.
  • Valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the candidate’s state of residence.
  • Candidates holding an RN license from another Compact state must apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from their state of residence within 30 days, as applicable.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
  • Ability to obtain American Heart Association BLS Instructor certification during orientation.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing standards and evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing leadership, clinical staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or other advanced/graduate degree.
  • Previous nursing educator, clinical educator, preceptor, or staff development experience.
  • Experience developing or delivering clinical education programs.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and professional nursing development.


Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a clinically strong RN who brings recent or substantial ICU or Med/Surg bedside experience and enjoys teaching, mentoring, and developing other nurses. Candidates should be comfortable transitioning between classroom education and hands-on clinical learning while partnering closely with nursing leadership and frontline staff.


Compensation & Sign-On Bonus

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $36.00–$54.00 per hour, depending on experience. Eligible full-time hires may also qualify for a $20,000 sign-on bonus, paid over two years.
