Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer Opportunity | McLean, VA

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through deployment? A growing engineering organization is seeking a hands-on professional to support the design and integration of advanced electrical systems used in mission-critical applications across aerospace, defense, energy, and high-tech industries.

This is an opportunity to work on highly customized engineered systems where you'll see your designs move from the drawing board to production, testing, and real-world deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical architectures, power distribution systems, and control panel layouts for complex engineered equipment

• Develop wiring diagrams, cable schedules, schematic packages, BOMs, and production documentation

• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, power balance, grounding, and protection coordination activities

• Support integration of PLC-based control systems and electrical equipment

• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, panel builders, and cross-functional engineering teams

• Participate in factory testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support activities

• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, UL, and CSA standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design, industrial automation, controls, or engineered equipment environments

• Experience with control panels, enclosures, wiring design, and power distribution systems

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical, or similar electrical CAD platforms

• Familiarity with PLC-based systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, or Danfoss

• Strong understanding of electrical standards, testing, and commissioning processes

• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Experience:

• Containerized, modular, or skid-mounted systems

• Refrigeration, cold-chain, or process equipment

• Aerospace, defense, marine, or other highly regulated industries

• Engineering-to-order or custom equipment environments
