IT Support Technician

IT Support Technician | R&D and Laboratory | Indianapolis, IN | Onsite | [Contract]

A global life science company is hiring an onsite IT Support Technician to cover its Indianapolis facility, with a focus on supporting R&D and laboratory users.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be the IT presence people walk up to, supporting researchers and lab staff in a regulated environment where the instruments matter as much as the laptops.

What you'll be doing

• Deskside and end-user support across PCs, laptops, printers, iDevices, Windows 11, M365, Teams video conferencing, and telephony


• Supporting R&D and laboratory users, including workstations attached to lab instruments and lab-connected computing


• Break/fix and IMAC services for a site population of 250+ users


• Managing assets, incidents, requests, and changes in ServiceNow


• Last-mile support for site network equipment, cabling, server rooms, and laboratory and manufacturing IT infrastructure


• Executing local infrastructure projects, lifecycle management, and equipment procurement, with accurate SOPs and documentation

What we're looking for

• 5+ years supporting end-user technologies and infrastructure in a 250+ user environment


• Experience supporting R&D or laboratory users and lab-attached computing. This does not have to be pharma. University science buildings, hospital and clinical labs, contract research and testing labs, or industrial QC labs all count


• Bachelor's in IT, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering, or equivalent certifications and practical experience


• Hands-on with end-user devices, basic networking and wireless, video conferencing, digital security, asset and lifecycle management, and ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM tool

What gives you an edge

• ITIL framework and IT service management experience


• Prior work alongside Operational Technology teams in manufacturing


• Familiarity with regulated (GMP) manufacturing and laboratory systems
