Abortion in America is seeking a Development Officer to join our growing fundraising team. This is an integral position at the heart of our mission to harness the truth of lived experience to reclaim power and build public support for reproductive freedom.
About Abortion in America:
Abortion in America (AIA) is a national effort to lift up the experiences of people affected by post-Roe abortion bans and other restrictive laws.
We have three core priorities:
The Role:
As Development Officer, you will serve as a key member of the fundraising team for Abortion in America, contributing to creating and executing development programs that fuel our mission. Reporting to the Director of Development (DoD), this position's primary responsibilities are 1) creating strategic philanthropic communications, including being the lead grant writer of the organization and 2) driving moves management from prospecting to securing funding.
The Development Officer will work closely with the Director of Development and CEO to develop funding priorities, encourage a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization, and build the internal infrastructure necessary for long-term fundraising success. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who can create compelling donor communications, while also bringing the confidence and interpersonal skills to engage donors directly, build strong relationships, and grow into direct solicitation.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position reports to the Development Director, Abortion In America. This is an exempt position with an annual salary of $115,000-$130,000
Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment
