An established company is seeking a Manager of Accounting to join the technical accounting & financial reporting team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys solving complex accounting issues, partnering with senior leaders, and playing a key role in the company's financial reporting process.

In this role, you'll have considerable exposure to complex transactions, SEC reporting, impairment and fair value analyses, and technical accounting research. You'll work closely with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance, and other business leaders while helping shape the accounting treatment for significant transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner and work collaboratively with financial reporting, finance, corporate accounting, and business leaders to account and evaluate complex transactions.
  • Lead the quarterly/annual impairment testing for intangible assets and credit loss testing
  • Review fair value analyses and updates
  • Work closely with the Financial Reporting team to review disclosures (10-K/10-Q filings)
  • Ensure compliance with SEC & GAAP regulations
  • Research complex accounting matters and prepare/ review technical accounting memos supporting conclusions
  • Prepare materials for audit committee meetings and senior leadership
  • Review new and amended contracts and advise on accounting implications
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assist with implementation
  • Coach and mentor senior accountants, helping develop the next generation of accounting talent for the company.
  • Collaborate across functions in a fast-paced environment where your technical expertise and judgment will have a visible impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or public accounting experience
  • Management experience required
  • Prior experience with technical accounting, especially impairment testing & analysis preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and communication capabilities.
