Role: Trading Operations Associate

Firm: Growing $5B+ Alternative Investment Firm

Location/In-Office: 5 days in-office in Midtown, NYC

Compensation: $110K–$150K Base + Bonus

A highly regarded alternative investment firm is looking to add a Trading Operations Associate / Trading Assistant to its growing team in New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Middle Office / Investment Operations professional looking to move into a more sophisticated, high-touch environment where they will work closely with the investment team and have meaningful exposure to the full trade lifecycle.

The Opportunity

• Support day-to-day middle office and trading operations across a range of public market investments


• Manage trade processing, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations and exception resolution


• Work closely with internal investment professionals, counterparties, prime brokers and other external partners


• Support separately managed accounts and complex trade flows


• Help monitor and resolve operational issues from trade execution through settlement


• Partner across Operations, Trading and Investment teams to ensure the portfolio operates efficiently


• Take ownership of projects and process improvements as the platform continues to grow

What They're Looking For

• 3–7 years of experience in Middle Office, Investment Operations or Trade Operations


• Background within a hedge fund, asset manager or investment bank


• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and settlement process


• Experience working with equities, derivatives and/or options


• Exposure to SMAs or multiple investment vehicles is a plus


• Detail-oriented, analytical and extremely organized


• Fast-moving, proactive and solutions-oriented


• Comfortable working in a lean environment where individuals have significant responsibility


• Strong academic background and demonstrated career progression
