Accounting Manager – Manufacturing

Accounting Manager to own the month-end close and financial reporting, and to make both faster and cleaner. You’ll lead a team, and work alongside operations on cost and inventory accounting.

What you’ll do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and deliver it on schedule
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce GAAP financial statements with flux and budget-to-actual analysis for leadership
• Act as the main contact for external auditors
• Shorten the close by automating manual work and getting more out of the ERP
• Document procedures and strengthen internal controls
• Partner with cost accounting and operations on standard costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation and reserves
• Support physical inventories and cycle counts
• Supervise and develop accounting staff

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of the month-end close
• Experience in manufacturing or another inventory-based business
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel
• ERP experience
• A track record of improving a process or shortening a close
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred; public accounting background a plus
