Business Development Representative (BDR)
Series A Fintech - onsite in NYC (5 days)
$150k - $180k OTE
We’re hiring several BDRs for a Series A fintech in New York.
They sell to the trades and local businesses: HVAC contractors, auto dealers, pharmacies, vet clinics. Most of these owners still run their money on paper invoices and spreadsheets.
This company puts it all in one platform: accounts, bill pay, cards and expenses, with AI doing the admin. For most customers, it’s the first fintech product they’ve ever used.
So you’d be calling business owners who have a real problem, with a product that solves it.
What’s in it for you
- You close your own deals. Smaller deals cam get done on one call, by you, so you’re not only booking meetings for someone else.
- Strong earnings. Uncapped commission.
- Room to move up. The sales leader has a track record of promoting BDRs into closing roles.
- A leader who has done it before. He took a fintech sales team from 7 AEs to over 100 people.
- Travel & in-person experiences. Conferences and trade shows at least once a month, expenses covered.
- A team that celebrates wins together
The role
- Outbound sales. You’re on the phone every day with business owners, opening conversations and closing the smaller deals yourself.
- In the office with the team. 5 days a week in Manhattan, sat next to the people closing deals.
- Learn by doing. You’re selling early, picking it up from the team around you, with time with the sales leader every day.
- High intensity. This team works hard, puts in long days, and stays late when it counts (not just for the sake of it).
- Measured on results, not KPIs. Deals closed, revenue, and qualified meetings, not how many dials you made.
What we need
You don’t need to have been a BDR or SDR before. You do need to be hungry.
- Fresh grads are welcome, as long as you’ve got real work experience behind you. Bartending, retail, serving, a sales internship, a job you held down through college. Anything that shows you know how to work.
- Or you’ve got up to 2 years in sales as a BDR, SDR, or similar, and you want a bigger opportunity.
- Or you’re a year or two into banking and want out of it and into a sales role in a startup.
- You want to win. You’re competitive, maybe you played sport at a high level, and you want to make serious money and are ready to outwork people to get it.
- The phone doesn’t scare you. Cold calling all day is the job, and you’re up for it.
- You don’t need hand-holding. Nobody is going to chase you, so you run your own day.
- You’re sharp. You can pick up basic finance quickly. A finance or accounting degree helps but isn’t required.
We can get you onboarded this month; apply now & a member of the team will be in touch if it's a good fit!
