Role Description This is a part time, on-site Dental Hygienist role based in Hawthorne, NJ. The Dental Hygienist will provide preventive dental care, including examinations, cleanings, and patient education on oral hygiene practices. Daily responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis, assessing periodontal health, documenting clinical findings, and collaborating with the dentist on treatment plans. The role involves maintaining infection control standards, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and ensuring treatment areas are clean and organized. The Dental Hygienist will also support patient comfort, explain procedures, and contribute to a positive and efficient clinical workflow.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Dentistry and Dental Care to support comprehensive patient treatment.


• Proficiency in Hygiene practices and Dental Prophylaxis for preventive care and routine cleanings.


• Ability to assess and manage Periodontal Disease, including monitoring periodontal status and supporting treatment recommendations.


• Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist in New Jersey and completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.


• Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and chairside safety standards.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and collaborate with the dental team.


• Comfort with dental practice technology and electronic health records; experience in a general dental practice is preferred.


• Commitment to continuing education, professional ethics, and delivering inclusive, respectful patient care.
