Senior Machinery Loss Control Professional - Power Generation

Polikov Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a highly respected, financially strong mutual insurance organization dedicated exclusively to the energy and utility industry.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Machinery Loss Control Professional with deep technical expertise in electric power generation.

This is not a traditional Loss Control position. We are looking for an experienced engineering professional who understands the machinery and operations behind power generation and can use that expertise to consult with major utilities and energy organizations throughout North America.

What you'll do:

• Conduct on-site assessments of power-generation facilities


• Evaluate machinery, operations and equipment-related exposures


• Identify opportunities to reduce the frequency and severity of major losses


• Consult directly with utility and energy organizations


• Evaluate equipment including turbines, generators, transformers, boilers and ancillary equipment


• Provide technically sound, practical risk-reduction recommendations


• Partner with underwriting and other internal teams


• Participate in industry associations and remain current on evolving technologies and standards

Ideal background:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical preferred


• 8+ years of experience associated with electric power generation


• Strong knowledge of major power-generation machinery


• Experience in risk engineering, machinery loss control, power-generation engineering, reliability, plant engineering or related technical disciplines


• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills


• PE, CSP or other relevant designations are a plus


• Ability to travel approximately 50–60%


• Ideally located near a major U.S. airport

Candidates may come from insurance/risk engineering OR directly from the utility, power-generation or energy industries.
