We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen of a high-volume neighborhood restaurant in New York City. Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent food quality, presentation, and execution.
• Manage, train, and develop a strong, motivated culinary team.
• Maintain high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, food costs, waste management, and labor.
• Collaborate with restaurant leadership on menu execution, seasonal offerings, and operational improvements.
• Maintain a positive, accountable kitchen culture while delivering consistent results during high-volume service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional kitchen experience, including leadership in a Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or similar role.
• Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant is essential.
• Strong culinary fundamentals and a commitment to quality and consistency.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop kitchen teams.
• Solid understanding of food costing, inventory, labor management, and kitchen financials.
• Organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable leading service in a fast-paced environment.
