Director of Human Resources | Deerfield, FL

Our client is a growing technology company specializing in AI-powered technology and analytics solutions that help organizations turn complex information into actionable intelligence. The company offers an entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment where employees have the opportunity to make a direct impact as the organization continues to grow.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead and execute the company's HR function. This is a highly hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys doing the work-not simply managing or delegating to a team. The Director will oversee a Recruiter while personally managing employee relations, payroll, benefits, HR operations, compliance, and Paylocity administration. This individual will also serve as a trusted HR partner to company leadership.

We are looking for an experienced HR leader who can move comfortably between strategic HR partnership and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate enjoys owning the HR function, solving problems, improving processes, and being directly involved in the day-to-day needs of employees and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day HR operations across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, including performance management, investigations, corrective action, and employee concerns.
  • Take hands-on ownership of payroll administration and related processes.
  • Manage employee benefits, including enrollment, open enrollment, employee questions, and vendor/broker relationships.
  • Serve as the internal Paylocity subject matter expert and ensure accurate HRIS/payroll administration.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee records, and employment compliance.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational needs, and employee matters.
  • Oversee the company's Recruiter and support talent acquisition efforts as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience.

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of progressive HR experience with broad, hands-on responsibility.
  • Hands-on Paylocity experience required.
  • Strong experience with payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • Experience handling investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Experience overseeing or partnering with recruiting/talent acquisition.
  • Comfortable operating as a hands-on HR leader in a growing organization with limited HR infrastructure.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, communication, and ability to partner effectively with employees and senior leadership.
