Nationwide High Voltage Safety Instructor

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Hiring now for Contract Instructors willing to travel within the United States to deliver Telcom training:

High Voltage Safety for Outside Plant (OSP) is a safety overview that provides students with safety parameters for working around High Voltage locations: Power Plants, Sub stations, Transmission towers, and Cell Sites. Included will be a visit to Wireless sites to become familiar with how to recognize potential hazards.

Power Routines for Central Office (CO) Field Technicians provides the skills and knowledge to perform routine and corrective maintenance on central office power equipment and manufacturer documentation.

LOCATION: On-site U.S. Travel required. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

COURSE OBJECTIVES - High Voltage Safety for Outside Plant

• Recognize High Voltage Zone of Influence
• Familiarize yourself with client practices regarding High Voltage Review Grounding and Bonding in the network
• Review and understand the use of High Voltage protection equipment
• Review Systems used in High Voltage situations Positron Opti 5100
• Review working around Cell Sites
• Recognizing weather issues

COURSE OBJECTIVES - Power Routines for Central Offices

• Describe power equipment maintenance process test and maintain battery cells
• Operate and maintain rectifiers
• Operate and adjust components of main control board
• Describe procedures for performing routine maintenance on converter plants, inverter plants and ring and tone plants
• Describe procedures for operating and maintaining standby AC power
• Test alarms related to different power equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Comfortably translate technical High-Voltage Safety and Power Routine concepts into practical, field-focused safety practices that students can apply in real-world telecommunications Central office and Outside Plant environments.
• Practical experience with high voltage systems power routines, with a solid understanding of relevant safety practices and standards.
• Adapt to varied learning styles, conduct hands-on demonstrations in the field, and supervise trainees in active work environments.
• Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical, utility, or industrial safety disciplines are highly beneficial.
• Prior experience as an instructor, trainer, or mentor in technical or trade-related settings preferred.
• Previous experience in telecommunications is a plus.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is a plus.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and adherence to company and client policies.
