Hiring: General Accounting Professionals – CPA Required

Spectrum Careers is working with a client in Washington DC looking for a CPA to strengthen their accounting team. If you enjoy running a clean close and keeping the books audit-ready, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll do

• Own day-to-day general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules under GAAP
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Support external audits and tax preparation with organized, well-documented workpapers
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes

What you bring

• Active CPA license (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• [3–7]+ years of general accounting experience, in public accounting, industry, or both
• Strong understanding of GAAP, the general ledger, and the full close cycle
• Advanced xevrcyc Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
• Experience with an ERP system such as [NetSuite, Deltek Costpoint, Sage Intacct, Dynamics]

Nice to have

• Government contracting or project-based accounting experience
• Public accounting audit background
• Experience mentoring or supervising staff
