POSITION SUMMARY

Legacy Building Specialties in Morrison and Granby is seeking a skilled Cabinetry Design Drafter / ProKitchen Specialist to create accurate, functional, and presentation-ready cabinetry designs using ProKitchen software. This position works from customer requirements, field measurements, architectural plans, and information provided by cabinetry designers and sales consultants to develop layouts, elevations, renderings, specifications, and order-ready documentation.

MORE THAN A TRADITIONAL DRAFTING POSITION

The successful candidate must understand cabinetry design, cabinet construction, clearances, appliance requirements, and the practical considerations involved in ordering and installation. This position will work closely with our Cabinetry Designer & Sales Consultant. Preference will be given to a candidate who also has customer-facing design and sales experience and is qualified to perform both positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create kitchen, bath, and other cabinetry designs using ProKitchen software.

Produce accurate floor plans, elevations, perspectives, renderings, and detailed cabinetry layouts.

Develop functional designs from field measurements, architectural plans, appliance specifications, and customer requirements.

Work closely with designers and sales consultants to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.

Assist with design revisions, product substitutions, layout changes, and value-engineering options.

Check dimensions, cabinet sizes, fillers, panels, moldings, clearances, appliance openings, countertop conditions, and installation requirements.

Identify missing information, conflicts, or potential installation problems before products are ordered.

Prepare drawings and supporting documentation for customer review, proposals, ordering, and installation.

Maintain accurate, organized digital project files and update plans as selections, measurements, or field conditions change.

Assist with cabinetry pricing, specifications, and order preparation when requested.

Coordinate with designers, sales staff, installers, contractors, and manufacturer representatives to resolve technical questions.

Maintain current ProKitchen catalogs, manufacturer information, product specifications, and pricing information.

Maintain current knowledge of cabinetry construction, design standards, industry trends, and available products.

Provide design and drafting support to multiple salespeople while managing deadlines and project priorities.

Participate in company and manufacturer training; support the department and perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated proficiency using ProKitchen cabinet-design software is required.

Cabinetry design and drafting experience is required; two or more years of relevant experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of cabinet construction, kitchen and bath design, countertops, appliances, fillers, moldings, panels, and installation requirements.

Ability to read architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, specifications, and field measurements.

Ability to convert concepts and measurements into accurate, buildable, and order-ready cabinetry plans.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.

Ability to communicate effectively with designers, salespeople, contractors, installers, and customers.

Experience with cabinetry estimating, pricing, ordering, or customer sales preferred.

CKD, drafting, interior-design, or related industry education or certification is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

Work primarily at a computer in an office and showroom environment.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and perform repetitive computer and hand movements.

Occasional jobsite visits may be required to review field conditions or measurements.

COMBINED-ROLE OPPORTUNITY

A candidate with demonstrated cabinetry sales experience, strong customer-facing design skills, and advanced ProKitchen proficiency may be considered for a combined Cabinetry Designer & ProKitchen Specialist position. Legacy Building Specialties will give priority to a well-qualified candidate capable of managing both roles.
