Forward Deployed Engineer

Seniority: Senior - > Lead

Location: Washington DC (Hybrid) or surrounding areas

Overview:

A well-funded, fast-growing startup building AI that writes software you can actually trust. Every output is independently verified, so the result is code that’s provably correct, not code that probably works. Defense primes and government customers use it to modernize legacy systems, squeeze maximum performance out of real hardware, and get prototypes into production fast.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll take validated solutions and turn them into capabilities that work in the field. You’ll embed with customer teams in high-stakes, mission-critical environments and get hands-on with GPUs, FPGAs and edge systems: integrating, optimizing, debugging and operating real workloads on real hardware.

Why you’ll love it

• Real impact: your work ships into systems that matter, not a backlog
• Total ownership: high autonomy, and you own the outcome end to end
• Hard problems: cutting-edge algorithms meet specialized hardware
• Close to the customer: you’re the trusted technical partner on the ground, not a ticket queue
• Early and ambitious: join a small, elite team at a pivotal stage, with real influence on how the company grows

Requirements:

• Exp. in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Applied Algo Development
• Strong programming ability in either Python or C++
• Hands-on exp. with one or more of the following: GPU programming, FPGA development, embedded systems, or edge compute environments
• Track record optimizing and deploying software on specialized or constrained hardware
• Proven working directly with customers / external stakeholders
• Exp. delivering software or systems in defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical environments
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
