Engineering Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Manager who can guide the drafting and design organization, support other Professional Engineers, and serve as a trusted decision-maker on engineering and design matters.

This role is intended to strengthen internal engineering capabilities while providing day-to-day leadership, staff development, process improvement, and executive-level technical judgment.

The successful candidate must combine strong technical aptitude with confident, collaborative leadership. We want someone who will listen to the existing team, welcome questions and feedback, speak candidly, and still be capable of making final engineering decisions when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the drafting and design team and provide leadership to other Professional Engineers.


• Serve as a key decision-maker when engineering or design questions require final technical judgment.


• Provide confident, reliable direction on complex design matters and executive-level engineering decisions.


• Apply strong technical aptitude while maintaining awareness of the broader business and project impact of engineering decisions.


• Lead, coach, and develop drafting, design, and engineering staff.

Candidate Profile

Industry Knowledge & Experience

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Engineering leadership experience within precast, prestress, structural engineering, or a related engineering environment.


• Experience leading drafting, design, and/or engineering professionals.


• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to make complex engineering design decisions.


• Prestressed concrete experience strongly preferred.


• Experience from an engineering consulting firm may be considered.


• Demonstrated success improving engineering processes, systems, or team performance.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred based on the technical authority expected of the role.


• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background appropriate for structural/precast engineering leadership.


• Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to develop engineering staff.


• Strong technical judgment and confidence making design decisions.
