VP of Capital Markets Salary: $275,000 - $300,000 bonus & equity Location: Chicago (ideally) Piper Maddox are partnering with an leading, well-capitalized U.S. power generation platform to appoint a Vice President of Capital Markets into its leadership team. The business owns and operates a significant portfolio of power generation assets across multiple U.S. markets and is entering an exciting period of portfolio growth, investment and capital deployment. This is not simply a financing execution role. The VP will have significant visibility across the organization and work directly with the CFO and senior leadership to shape how the business finances acquisitions, optimizes its existing portfolio and deploys capital into future growth. The position offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership of the capital markets function within an established power platform—combining transaction execution, capital strategy and senior lender/investor relationships. Key responsibilities: Lead the company's capital markets and financing strategy across its operating portfolio and future investments. Originate, structure and execute acquisition financings, project-level debt, portfolio facilities, corporate debt, refinancings and recapitalizations. Evaluate capital solutions across commercial banks, institutional lenders, private credit and other capital providers. Build and maintain senior relationships across the banking, lending and infrastructure investment community. Partner closely with the M&A team to determine optimal financing structures for potential acquisitions and investments. Lead analysis around capital structure, leverage, debt capacity, liquidity, cost of capital and investment returns. Key Requirements: 10 years of experience across capital markets, project finance, leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, investment banking or principal investing. Deep knowledge of the U.S. power, energy, renewables or infrastructure sector. A strong track record executing debt financings, acquisition financings, refinancings and other complex capital markets transactions. Experience financing power generation or infrastructure assets, ideally including exposure to merchant and contracted revenue structures. Strong relationships across banks, institutional lenders, private credit and infrastructure capital providers. This is the opportunity to join a genuine energy transition powerhouse.
