Star Refining, Inc. is a Boca Raton (Florida) based leading precious metals refining company with a straightforward pitch: we are looking for a hands-on Manager of Finance and Administration with energy and confidence who wants to be closely involved in the day-to-day of running the business and supporting a small management team. You will be hands-on with the full finance function — general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, budgeting, and cash flow — working directly alongside our CEO. This is not a role where you sit above the transactions; you will be doing them, and building toward a bigger seat at the table. There is a defined path from strong technical fundamentals to greater scope and responsibility, with a clear review at 12 months, and an Administrative/Accounting Assistant planned to join once you have built out the role. What you will be doing: ● Handle the full accounting cycle in QuickBooks Online — general ledger, close, reconciliations, reporting ● Process day-to-day transactions, reconciliations, and bill payments personally ● Build budgets and cash flow forecasts ● Run payroll (Paychex Flex) and oversee human resources and benefits administration ● Manage banking, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and vendor relationships ● Help drive improved processes and internal controls ● Support the company's annual financial audit and work with external auditors What we are looking for: ● 5 or more years of progressively more responsible accounting experience — senior accountant, assistant controller, public accounting, or similar ● Comfortable being hands-on with transactions, reconciliations, and day-to-day bookkeeping — this is not a purely supervisory role ● Solid grounding in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and QuickBooks Online ● Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or at an advanced stage of working toward one ● Ambitious to build toward a bigger role and increased responsibilities What we offer: ● A real growth track — scope and compensation designed to expand as you do ● Hybrid schedule — office located in Boca Raton, Florida ● Comprehensive Benefits Package: health insurance, Simple IRA with company match, paid time off (inclusive of holidays and sick time) If you are the type who wants to learn a business inside and out, seeks a role that expects you to be both hands-on as well as a thoughtful planner and strategist, and would expect to grow into a bigger leadership role over time, we would very much like to hear from you.
