Why This Role?

  • This is an operational CFO seat for a division. You'll sit in the room with senior operations leadership and help shape strategy, not just build models behind the scenes.
  • Your work will be visible right away. The division is coming off a challenging growth year, and strong finance leadership can directly help move it into the company's higher-growth tier.
  • You'll get a true mix of accounting and finance. You'll own the monthly reporting cycle and also act as the go-to finance advisor for operators.
  • You'll lead and develop your own accounting team.
  • The company is backed by private equity and growing across many sites, which builds experience that compounds quickly.
  • Hybrid schedule

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the division's month-end close and monthly reporting cycle, including reviewing the team's work for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead the division's budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Act as a finance advisor to operations leaders. You'll translate the numbers into clear decisions and be ready to have direct conversations when the numbers call for it.
  • Analyze variances against budget and prior periods, and recommend corrective action.
  • Find cost savings and efficiency improvements, and build action plans to deliver them.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, including identifying training needs.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation.
  • Help design and roll out process improvements as the business scales.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience, ideally public/private mix.
  • At least a year of direct people-management experience.
  • Enough accounting depth to oversee and review the close with confidence.
  • Experience partnering closely with operations teams, not only building models.
  • Comfort owning a recurring monthly reporting cadence.
  • Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, ad hoc financial modeling). Cloud ERP experience is a plus. xevrcyc
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend needs when operations partners need support, plus travel of up to 25%.
  • Experience at a fast-growing, PE-backed multi-site healthcare company is also a plus.
