Mortgage Underwriter

JCW Search is partnering with a well-established regional bank in Connecticut to hire a Mortgage Underwriter for its residential lending team. The bank has strong community roots and a growing mortgage platform.

What you'll do:

• Underwrite residential mortgage loans (conventional, jumbo, and portfolio products) in line with agency and bank guidelines


• Analyze credit, income, assets, and collateral to make sound lending decisions


• Partner with loan officers and processors to keep files moving and deliver a great borrower experience


• Ensure compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of residential mortgage underwriting experience, ideally in a bank or credit union setting


• Strong knowledge of DU/LP and agency guidelines


• Self-employed borrower and tax return analysis experience a plus


• Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a collaborative, community-focused environment
