Water/Wastewater Project Manager — Municipal Water Infrastructure Creighton Manning, a GAI Consultants Company · Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse, or White Plains, NY · Full-time $55–$78/hour, based on location and experience · Sign-on bonus!

Help build a growing water practice in New York. Creighton Manning is hiring an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead municipal infrastructure projects and expand our New York Water Division. You'll own client relationships, pursue new work, and become the person clients, contractors and partners call first. You'll also have the backing of GAI's experienced water professionals.

What You Will Do You'll lead projects from planning through start-up. Your work will cover collection, conveyance and distribution systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and rehabilitation of existing assets.

• Direct multidiscipline teams and coordinate staff workload across projects.


• Manage scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, safety and profitability.


• Oversee schematic through final design, specifications, permitting, contract documents, and bid- and construction-phase services.


• Lead flow projections, hydraulic modeling, master planning, alternatives analysis, cost estimating and equipment selection.


• Hire, mentor and develop junior engineers.


• Find opportunities, lead proposals and present at client interviews.

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years of municipal water/wastewater experience in planning, modeling, conveyance and distribution design (including pipelines in public rights-of-way), treatment design, or construction services.


• 2+ years as a Project Manager with a track record of delivering on time and on budget.


• Strong technical writing, communication and leadership skills.


• A self-starter who enjoys winning new work.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS and hydraulic modeling software.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years as engineer of record on water and/or wastewater projects.


• Trenchless pipeline design, permitting and construction.


• Condition assessments of facilities and pipelines, including fieldwork and data management.


• Projects that span more than one market.


• An established client network in Upstate New York.

They are comfortable solving complex problems across specialty areas.
