Our client is a growing, entrepreneurial organization looking for a Head of Sales & Marketing to strengthen its commercial engine and help lead the business through its next stage of growth. This is a highly visible leadership role for an experienced sales leader who knows how to turn ambitious revenue goals into focused execution. The right person will have the opportunity to shape sales strategy, elevate team performance, sharpen forecasting and accountability, and ensure marketing investments translate into meaningful business opportunities. This is not a leadership-from-the-sidelines position. It is an opportunity to work alongside the team, influence key decisions, and build the systems and habits that support sustainable growth.

Focus:

• Translate company growth objectives into a clear commercial plan with defined sales priorities, performance expectations, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead sales and business development professionals while strengthening communication, ownership, and accountability across the team.
• Create a disciplined rhythm around prospecting, opportunity progression, pipeline reviews, follow-up, coaching, and individual performance.
• Coach team members directly, helping improve selling behaviors, execution, and consistency while developing stronger sales leaders.
• Strengthen forecasting and reporting practices so leadership has a reliable view of pipeline health, revenue opportunities, and potential performance gaps.
• Use sales data and market feedback to identify promising customer segments, account opportunities, territories, and areas for continued expansion.
• Work closely with senior and operational leaders to ensure sales priorities align with customer demand, delivery capacity, and broader company objectives.
• Guide external marketing resources and evaluate how effectively campaigns and lead-generation efforts contribute to commercial goals.
• Bring customer, competitor, and market insights into leadership discussions to support smarter growth decisions.
• Develop practical, repeatable sales processes that create greater consistency and accountability while preserving the speed and flexibility of an entrepreneurial business.

Skill Set:

• Proven success leading sales, business development, or broader commercial functions within a growth-oriented organization.
• Demonstrated ability to improve revenue performance through sales strategy, team leadership, coaching, and disciplined execution.
• Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, sales metrics, and performance reporting, with the ability to create structure and accountability in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience leading sales leaders, multiple revenue functions, or teams with varying commercial responsibilities is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to coach the team, solve problems, and improve processes rather than manage from a distance.
• Ability to balance longer-term growth initiatives with immediate sales priorities and day-to-day execution.
• Experience partnering with internal or external marketing resources to improve lead generation and support revenue objectives.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with executives, managers, and frontline sales professionals.
• Sound business judgment, adaptability, and an ownership-oriented approach to leadership.
• Ability to work primarily onsite in Phoenix, AZ and remain closely connected to the team and day-to-day business.
