Accounting Manager
Accounting Manager – Contract / Contract-to-Hire Location: Longview, WA Employment Type: Contract or Contract-to-Hire Compensation: $45-$58/hour, DOE Industry: Construction About the Opportunity CV Resources is partnering with a well-established, privately held construction and industrial services organization in the Pacific Northwest to identify an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate contract or contract-to-hire opportunity. This position will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting financial reporting, improving internal processes, and ensuring accurate financial information across a complex, project-driven organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can step into a fast-paced environment, take ownership of critical accounting functions, and partner closely with operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close. Manage and review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting. Support construction-specific accounting activities, including job costing, project accounting, WIP reporting, and cost allocations. Partner with the Controller on financial reporting, accounting controls, and operational improvements.
Provide leadership, training, and oversight to accounting staff. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and leverage accounting technology. Collaborate with purchasing, supply chain, project management, and operations teams to resolve accounting discrepancies. Support audits, financial analysis, and other accounting initiatives as needed. Qualifications 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close. Construction accounting, job costing, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred. Experience overseeing AP, reconciliations, accruals, and accounting operations. Strong ERP experience; Viewpoint Vista or similar construction accounting software preferred. Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze complex financial information.
Demonstrated success improving processes, implementing controls, and leading accounting teams. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA or CMA a plus.
