Sales and Operations Coordinator

Cotterman & Sons is a construction site services management company based in Montville, Ohio, certified as a WBE, Ohio EDGE, NEORSD SBE, and our National WBE. We provide general management, waste solutions, and site logistics support to construction projects across Ohio.

Cotterman & Sons is a small, family-owned business experiencing rapid growth. We're looking for another team member to come aboard and assist us on the sales and operations side of the business.

This is a full time, onsite position.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced Sales & Operations Coordinator who can take ownership of the coordination and client- facing workload — someone with proven experience in a similar role who can step in and contribute quickly with minimal oversight after a period of training and development. You'll report directly to our Senior Associate/PM.

This role is in-office during an initial training period (typically 60–90 days), working directly alongside our Senior Associate/PM at our Columbus, OH office to learn the role firsthand.

As Cotterman & Sons continues to grow, we expect this role to grow with it. There's genuine potential for advancement in both title and compensation as you take on more responsibility and help support that growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently manage day-to-day operations: scheduling, job tracking, and follow-up on open items
• Own vendor and subcontractor communication end-to-end (equipment rentals, dumpsters, site services, etc.)
• Draft and refine proposals, pricing sheets, and client-facing documents
• Monitor project status across active jobs, proactively flag issues, and recommend solutions
• Maintain CRM data and internal record-keeping processes
• Coordinate logistics for equipment delivery and pickup, resolving scheduling conflicts independently
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and vendors, representing the company directly

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years in project coordination, operations, or client-facing administrative roles (construction or field services
• industry strongly preferred)
• Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and make sound judgment calls independently
• Strong written and verbal communication — comfortable representing the company directly to clients and vendors
• Advanced proficiency with Excel/Office and CRM systems (we use Docket)
• Track record of process improvement or taking ownership beyond assigned tasks

Cotterman & Sons offers health benefits and a paid time off (PTO) plan, both available after 90 days of employment.

• Eligible for a structured bonus plan
• Eligible for a commission plan beginning at completion of the training period
• Commission structure is based on jobs and level of involvement
• Expected commission at start is approximately 25%–30% of salary

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

After the acclimation/training period, this person is operating with minimal oversight — owning vendor coordination, client- facing documents, and day-to-day follow-through, and acting as a true right hand to the Senior Associate/PM.

Cotterman & Sons LLC provides full-service site solutions for construction projects — coordinating dumpster/waste hauling, equipment rental, portable restrooms, fencing, trailers, and other temporary site needs from a single point of contact. We manage vendor sourcing, pricing, scheduling, and logistics across every phase of a project's site services, while the physical hauling, equipment operation, and on-site work is performed by our network of local, subcontracted vendors and operators — not by Cotterman & Sons personnel directly.
