About the Organization

Our client, a nationally recognized, NFP in DC, is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead its day-to-day accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for a nonprofit accounting leader looking for scale, complexity, and mission-driven work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and review/approve entries and reconciliations prepared by staff
• Oversee AP, grants payable, payroll, and cash management
• Lead the annual financial statement audit as the primary point of contact for external auditors
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Drive process improvement and system optimization to increase automation and efficiency
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Supervise, coach, and develop a small accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance;
  CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with nonprofit experience strongly preferred
• Prior supervisory experience
• Experience with complex, multi-funding-source accounting operations
• NetSuite/Intacct preferred;
  other ERP experience considered

COMP = $125-$140k + Great Benefits
