R&D Scientist / Engineer

About us

We’re an early-stage, venture-backed company changing how industrial chemicals are made with modernized process technology. We’re a small team with deep R&D experience, based in Chicago. We’re in stealth, so we’ll share more as conversations progress.

The role

You’ll be one of our first technical hires and will help build our R&D program from the ground up. We're looking to add a broad range of skillsets over the next 3-6 months spanning electrochemical engineering to organic chemistry to mechanical engineering. The work is, by definition, hands-on: designing and running experiments, building and improving hardware, making sense of the data, and helping decide what we do next. The scope is broad and will grow with the company.

Most importantly, we want someone willing to do whatever it takes to build and scale a company from the ground up. This is not a job with a well-defined description. This is not a job with lots of hand holding. We need someone to come in and make an impact fast, and to grow and build independently.

What we’re looking for

• Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience


• Hands-on experience building and scaling new chemical processes or technologies


• Enjoys building and troubleshooting, not only running established protocols


• Self-directed and comfortable in an early-stage setting
