Acquisition Associate

About the company

Our client is a privately held real estate investment group based in Midtown Manhattan. They acquire multifamily properties in major US markets, mainly Florida and Arizona, with some activity in New York, and they’re now expanding their acquisitions team.

The role

This is a principal-side acquisitions role. You’ll find off-market multifamily deals, start conversations with owners, and see each deal through to closing. The firm builds a tightly targeted, in-house list of properties and owners, so you’ll spend your time on qualified opportunities instead of cold dead ends.

What you’ll do

• Work the firm’s curated list of target properties and owners, reaching out mainly by phone


• Make first contact with owners, many of whom have held their buildings for decades, and find out whether they’d consider selling


• Build trust and rapport with owners over months of follow-up


• Own each deal from first conversation through underwriting, LOI and closing, with support from the wider team


• Keep a large pipeline of owner conversations organized and moving


• Help grow the acquisitions function as the firm scales

What we’re looking for

• Some real estate experience is required. Multifamily, investment sales or acquisitions experience is ideal


• 2–5 years in an outreach-heavy role, but earlier-career candidates with the right profile will be considered


• A natural communicator who can talk to anyone and is warm, patient and credible on the phone


• Comfortable with high-volume phone outreach and not put off by rejection


• Disciplined and consistent, ideally with numbers to show it (calls made, meetings set, deals closed)


• Entrepreneurial and motivated by commission upside


• Organized enough to manage many relationships at once and push deals across the finish line


• Able to work from the Midtown office five days a week
