Position Overview

A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Vice President – Tax to join its New York team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing tax compliance, reporting, planning and advisory matters across the firm's U.S. operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior tax leadership, Finance, Legal and business stakeholders to manage complex tax matters, support strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee U.S. federal, state and local tax compliance and reporting obligations across multiple legal entities.


• Manage and review corporate income tax provisions, including ASC 740 calculations, deferred taxes and related disclosures.


• Provide tax advisory support on complex transactions, legal entity structures, financing arrangements and strategic business initiatives.


• Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury and business teams to evaluate tax implications and identify opportunities for tax efficiency.


• Support tax planning initiatives, including legal entity restructuring and cross-border transactions.


• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors and regulatory authorities.


• Monitor changes in U.S. and international tax legislation, assessing potential implications for the firm's operations.


• Support tax audits, examinations and regulatory inquiries, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.


• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, reporting systems and operational efficiencies.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related discipline; CPA, MST or JD/LL.M. preferred.


• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant tax experience, ideally within investment banking, financial services, asset management or a Big Four accounting firm.


• Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate taxation, tax accounting and financial reporting requirements.


• Experience with ASC 740, corporate income tax compliance and complex legal entity structures.


• Familiarity with partnership taxation, international taxation or financial products is advantageous.


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.


• Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
