Civil & Commercial Litigation Attorney Hunt Valley, Maryland | Confidential Search $110,000–$150,000 Base Salary Bonus An established, growing Hunt Valley law firm is expanding its litigation practice and seeking an experienced Civil or Commercial Litigation Attorney with 3 or more years of experience. This is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys substantive litigation work, direct client interaction, and greater responsibility for managing cases in a smaller, collaborative law firm environment. The firm represents businesses, business owners, developers, financial institutions, and individuals in a broad range of legal matters, including civil and commercial litigation, business and contract disputes, construction litigation, real estate disputes, and creditors' rights. Candidates do not need experience in every practice area. The priority is finding an attorney with a strong civil litigation foundation, sound legal judgment, and the ability to manage litigation matters with increasing independence. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written arguments. Take and defend depositions, conduct discovery, and prepare cases for hearings and trial. Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and other court proceedings. Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy, developments, risks, and resolution options. Collaborate with attorneys handling business, construction, real estate, creditors' rights, and other related legal matters. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active Maryland Bar. Minimum of 3 years of substantive civil or commercial litigation experience. Strong experience with litigation procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions practice, and case preparation. Experience with depositions, hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation. Ability to manage litigation matters and deadlines with increasing independence. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Excellent client communication and relationship-management abilities. Sound professional judgment and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
