EdSails | Full-Time | Remote (U.S.)
Starting Salary: $60,000 annually, fixed and non-negotiable, plus quarterly profit-based salary growth
About EdSailsEdSails is an embedded sales organization helping education technology companies accelerate growth. Founded by Jon Small and Eric Hoffman, we work directly inside our clients' businesses to build sales momentum, develop opportunities, and close deals. Our approach to business and sales is values-first. We believe lasting success comes from integrity, genuine relationships, accountability, and doing what's right for our customers, partners, and employees. We sell with conviction, but always with respect for the relationships and trust that make long-term success possible.
We're operators, not consultants. We combine decades of education industry experience with hands-on execution, modern sales technology, and a relentless commitment to delivering results. We're building EdSails around those same principles internally: a close-knit team where everyone takes ownership, supports one another, and shares in the success we create together. We're seeking a Business Operations Lead who shares these values and will play a central role in building the operational infrastructure that supports our clients, our team, and our continued growth.
The OpportunityThe Business Operations Lead will take ownership of EdSails' operational functions across multiple client engagements and the company's internal business activities. This is a leadership role combining strategic judgment with hands-on execution. You'll direct sales engagement operations, oversee CRM systems and data quality, manage our internship program, coordinate corporate vendors, and develop processes that support our growth.
You'll have responsibility for setting operational standards, supervising execution, identifying opportunities for improvement, and delivering results. You'll manage interns who carry out delegated operational activities while retaining accountability for the quality and effectiveness of their work. You'll work directly with EdSails' founders and have meaningful influence over how the company operates and scales.
The role reports directly to co-founder and CEO Jon Small.
We're looking for a capable, resourceful professional who combines exceptional execution with independent judgment and a genuine sense of ownership.
A college degree is not required. Demonstrated capability, resourcefulness, and results matter most, along with a genuine love of education and a commitment to making a positive impact in the field.
Compensation and Career GrowthStarting annual salary: $60,000, fixed and non-negotiable.
At EdSails, we believe company success should translate into meaningful employee compensation growth. Our quarterly compensation model allocates 20% of qualifying surplus operating profit equally among eligible employees as permanent increases to annual base salaries. Each eligible employee receives the same dollar increase, regardless of starting salary. These increases become part of ongoing compensation rather than one-time bonuses. The amount of any quarterly increase depends on qualifying financial results and available surplus. As EdSails grows, this position offers opportunities to expand its scope, influence, and leadership responsibilities.
Work Environment and ScheduleEdSails operates as a unified team with a shared commitment to our clients and one another.
All employees receive the same paid company holidays and scheduled closures, including the first seven weekdays of July and the last seven weekdays of December. We maintain a collaborative, flexible approach to occasional personal time off, with paid accommodations coordinated around team and business needs. Applicable paid sick leave and other legally protected leave are provided.
Employee benefits are an important area of planned company development. EdSails does not currently provide employer-sponsored health insurance. The Business Operations Lead will help shape our future benefits strategy by researching options, evaluating providers, and developing recommendations. The timing and details of any future benefits program have not yet been finalized.
Why EdSails? This is an opportunity to help build a company from the inside.
You'll work directly with experienced founders, exercise meaningful ownership over critical business functions, and influence how EdSails develops as an organization.
You'll gain exposure to a portfolio of innovative education technology companies and develop leadership experience across sales operations, business administration, technology, vendor management, and team development.
We're building EdSails for the long term, with a culture that values integrity, initiative, accountability, exceptional execution, and shared success.
We're looking for someone excited to take ownership, build great systems, lead others, and grow with us.
