Mechanical Engineer – Space Systems

We're partnering with an innovative aerospace company developing cutting-edge hardware and software for space-based sensing, advanced imaging, and scientific missions.

This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced engineering team working on next-generation satellite and telescope technologies. You'll play a key role in designing precision mechanical systems that operate in some of the most demanding environments imaginable.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and develop precision mechanical structures and assemblies using Siemens NX
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
• Design interfaces between optical, electrical, and thermal subsystems
• Perform structural and thermal analysis (FEA and hand calculations)
• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing
• Collaborate with suppliers on fabrication, tolerances, and quality requirements
• Contribute to the development of next-generation spaceflight hardware

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years' experience in mechanical engineering with hands-on product development
• Strong Siemens NX CAD experience
• Excellent understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Experience designing precision or high-tolerance mechanical systems
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment

Desirable experience:

• FEA (NX Nastran, ANSYS or equivalent)
• Opto-mechanical or optical system design
• Manufacturing, integration, or assembly experience
• Space or aerospace hardware development
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
