Refrigeration Engineer

Continued and ongoing expansion means my client is looking to appoint a Refrigeration CO2 (R744) In-House Trainer.

A rare opportunity to help shape and lead technical training at a new CO₂ refrigeration training facility, putting your expertise at the heart of technician development. Play a key role in raising industry standards, developing future talent and supporting the company’s continued growth in advanced refrigeration technology.

The position:

• Build and shape the training programme: Take ownership of developing and delivering practical CO₂ (R744) training, from foundation to advanced level, shaping the new facility and influencing how the next generation of refrigeration professionals develop their skills.


• Make a lasting impact: Improve troubleshooting, commissioning and safety standards, helping raise technical performance across the business and seeing the results of your work.


• Technical variety: Work across commissioning, troubleshooting and complex CO₂ refrigeration challenges, keeping your role hands-on and varied beyond the training facility.

The Candidate

• Strong refrigeration background: Solid hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration, ideally with 5+ years in the industry.


• CO₂ expertise: Experience commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting transcritical CO₂ (R744) systems.


• Strong problem-solving skills: Confident diagnosing complex refrigeration and controls issues.


• A passion for developing others: Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting other engineers, whether formally or on the job.


• Clear communication: Able to explain complex technical concepts in a practical, easy-to-understand way.


• Comfortable with technology: Confident using digital tools to create, share and deliver training materials.
