Compensation & Benefits Attorney: Boardroom to Deal Table

LHH is assisting a well-regarded midsize New York City law firm in its search for an attorney to join its Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits practice.

This role offers the opportunity to handle a diverse mix of sophisticated executive compensation, employee benefits, ERISA, and employment-related matters while working closely with partners and taking meaningful ownership of matters.

The Role

The attorney will have the opportunity to:

• Design and implement incentive compensation plans
• Negotiate and draft employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements
• Advise on ESOP formations, maintenance, and governance matters
• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements
• Counsel clients on tax, ERISA, securities, and corporate governance issues
• Work directly with partners and assume meaningful responsibility for matters

The Opportunity

• Significant hands-on experience and opportunity to take ownership of substantive matters
• Regular one-on-one interaction with partners
• Attorneys in the group generally bill between 1,400 and 1,800 hours
• Collaborative culture centered on teamwork, integrity, and excellence
• Hybrid flexibility, with attorneys generally working in the office 2 to 3 days per week
• A flexible approach to the hybrid schedule rather than formal day-to-day tracking
