Role Description The Associate will work on a full-time, on-site basis in Baton Rouge, LA, supporting a broad range of legal matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching legal issues, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents, and assisting with case strategy. The role involves regular client communication, including meetings, status updates, and preparation for hearings or negotiations. The Associate will appear in court and administrative proceedings under supervision, manage deadlines, and help maintain organized case files. Collaboration with partners, other associates, and support staff is expected to ensure thorough case preparation and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Strong legal research and writing abilities, including drafting motions, pleadings, and memoranda.


• Effective client-facing skills, such as clear communication, professional demeanor, and confidentiality.


• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities.


• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external parties in a team-based environment.


• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.


• Active license to practice law in Louisiana required.


• Comfort with in-person court appearances, hearings, and meetings in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.


• Proficiency with standard law office technology and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar).


• Prior experience in a law firm or clerkship is required.
