The Research Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Aurora, CO. This role supports preclinical and translational research activities related to the development and optimization of cell therapy programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing experiments involving cell engineering of human T cells, in vitro T cell functional assays, and in vivo tumor control experiments. The Research Technician will assist with experimental design, collect and record data in electronic systems, and contribute to data analysis and interpretation. Additional duties include equipment maintenance, inventory management, adherence to safety and biosafety guidelines, and close collaboration with cross-functional team members. A successful candidate will bring strong technical skills and scientific curiosity.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background such as a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in biology, immunology, or a related field.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to follow experimental protocols, troubleshoot issues, and interpret scientific data.

  • Core laboratory skills such as pipetting, solution preparation, use of common lab equipment, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards.

  • Hands-on experience with tissue culture techniques, including aseptic handling, cell expansion, and monitoring of cell health and viability. Experience handling human T cells is preferred.

  • Competence in data analysis, including organizing data, using statistical methods/software, and clearly documenting and presenting findings.

  • Strong understanding of experimental controls and interpretation of biological data.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, follow detailed instructions, manage time effectively, and maintain meticulous records.

  • Familiarity with oncology, immunology, or cell therapy research is beneficial; prior experience in industry or regulated laboratory settings is a plus.

  • Experience with T cell engineering, viral transduction, cell manufacturing workflows, tumor implantation, tumor monitoring, and tissue collection are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Execute experiments using primary human T cells and other immune cell populations, including isolation, activation, genetic modification, expansion, cryopreservation, and recovery.

  • Perform T cell functional assays to evaluate activation, proliferation, cytokine production, cytotoxicity, persistence, and other relevant phenotypes.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot flow cytometry-based assays, including immunophenotyping and intracellular cytokine staining.

  • Execute mouse studies to evaluate safety and efficacy of cell therapy candidates. Perform tumor engraftment, cell therapy administration, animal monitoring, tissue collection, and downstream sample processing.

  • Communicate results clearly through experimental summaries, figures, presentations, and reports.

  • Maintain laboratory readiness, including cell cultures, reagents, equipment, and experimental materials.
