Role Description The Residential Drafter is a full-time, on-site role located in New Market, AL. This role is responsible for preparing detailed residential construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and site plans, in alignment with design intent and building standards. The Residential Drafter will collaborate with designers and project leads to translate concepts into accurate CAD or BIM drawings, revise plans based on feedback, and ensure documentation is complete and coordinated. Day-to-day work includes maintaining drawing standards, verifying measurements and details, supporting permitting and construction documentation, and communicating clearly with the design team to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in residential drafting tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM platforms). Preferred skill and proficiency in Revit.


• Knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, and best practices for custom homes and remodels.


• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design concepts with high attention to detail.


• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working closely with designers, project managers, and other team members.


• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.


• Relevant education or training in drafting, architecture, or a related field; prior experience in residential design is preferred.


• Commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and client-focused design; openness to learning and refining processes.
