Our client is a growing consumer products company that designs, develops, and sources innovative products for major retail customers across North America. They are seeking a Product Development Manager to take ownership of new product initiatives from concept through commercialization while working closely with overseas manufacturing partners, engineering teams, sourcing, quality, and sales.

This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on product development professional who enjoys being deeply involved in execution, supplier collaboration, and bringing products to market rather than simply managing timelines.

What You'll Do

• Lead new product development projects from ideation through launch and commercialization


• Partner directly with overseas manufacturers and suppliers to drive product development, solve production challenges, and ensure successful execution


• Develop product briefs, business cases, roadmaps, and commercialization plans


• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams


• Manage multiple product initiatives simultaneously while maintaining timelines and quality standards


• Support product reviews, testing, supplier communication, and ongoing product improvements


• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior product development team members

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of product management or product development experience


• Experience leading products from concept through commercialization and market launch


• Hands-on international product development experience, including direct collaboration with overseas factories and manufacturing partners


• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills


• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, mid-sized company environment where product managers are heavily involved in execution


• Willingness to work onsite approximately four days per week to support team collaboration and product development activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring or leading junior team members


• Formal people management experience


• Experience working within consumer products, durable goods, industrial products, tools, storage, garage organization, home improvement, or related categories
