Director of Engineering, Business Systems Technology - Direct Hire - Remote (US)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading education technology organization, is seeking a Director of Engineering, Business Systems Technology to lead a large-scale enterprise technology organization supporting ERP, CRM, and HCM platforms. This leader will oversee a team of approximately 140 professionals, including engineering managers and architecture teams, while driving strategic initiatives across platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, and NetSuite. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing managers, scaling large engineering organizations, owning enterprise architecture decisions, and overseeing technology budgets.

This role will also focus on operationalizing processes, standardizing delivery practices, and leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency at scale. This position offers competitive compensation, bonus eligibility, and the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology strategy.

• Proven experience leading teams of 30+ professionals, ideally with experience overseeing organizations of 100+ employees.


• Strong experience building, scaling, and developing engineering teams, including leadership development and organizational design.


• Experience leading enterprise architecture teams and owning technology architecture decisions across complex environments.


• Experience managing enterprise technology budgets, resource allocation, and strategic technology investments.


• Experience overseeing enterprise business systems supporting platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, and NetSuite.


• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.


• Experience working within large-scale Agile delivery environments utilizing tools such as Copado and Salesforce DevOps solutions.


• Experience scaling enterprise technology organizations through periods of significant growth or transformation.
