Mechanical Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Install and remove parts / components pertaining to medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers
• Monitor basic tests and record observations or issues.
• Operate basic lab equipment such as parts washer, power washer, truck hoist, trailer jack, in-ground scales
• Other
• • Work safely in compliance with Cummins safety guidelines.
  • Maintain orderly work area in accordance with Meritor standards.

Job Requirements

• Education
• • Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience
• • Familiarity with mechanical systems and/or automotive background.
• Skills
• • Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Understanding of measurement techniques (torque wrenches, dial indicators).
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers.
• Other
• • Willingness to work overtime / weekends as needed.
  • Possibility of 20% Travel, able to travel both domestic and international.
  • Maintain attendance within corporate guidelines.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • To possess or willing to obtain a CDL.
  • To possess or willing to obtain necessary hand tools to perform the at hand tasks (Standard and Metric sockets and wrenches up to 1”/24MM, rachets, pliers, prybars, allen wrenches, screw drivers, ECT).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 lbs and push/pull 150 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
