This is an on-site role in our downtown Seattle office . Reed Longyear is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Family Law practice. Reed Longyear is a well-established and long-standing general practice firm in downtown Seattle with strong ties to the local community. We are close to transit centers, ferries, and the King County courthouse. We cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and offer good benefits and friendly co-workers. Responsibilities include : Communicate with clients, including initial intake and coordinating appointments Maintain and update attorney calendars Provide administrative support to paralegals and attorneys on a wide variety of complex and confidential legal matters Manage, organize, and maintain paper and electronic documents according to firm-wide standards Input information into file database and case management software Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents Prepare mailings, messenger service, and court filings Provide phone and administrative support to reception Qualifications : Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a legal support role High degree of professionalism, discretion, and empathy when dealing with sensitive client matters Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (legal case management software is a plus) High proficiency and accuracy with calendaring software Ability to work independently, manage complex workloads, and meet deadlines Benefits offered: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Long-Term Disability Basic Life Insurance Commuter transit benefit 401(k) with employer match Paid time off Paid holidays Compensation Range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually (DOE)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
