Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Lead Workday Software Engineer for one of our clients in McLean, VA.

Rate Range: $75.00 to $82.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking a Lead Workday Software Engineer to join a growing Workday Enterprise Capabilities organization. This role requires a strong combination of Workday expertise and software engineering skills, with experience across Core HCM, Financials, and Integrations.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can solve complex challenges, influence stakeholders, and partner with both business and engineering teams to deliver scalable Workday solutions.

This is a contract-to-hire position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Workday solutions.
• Provide expertise across Workday Core HCM, Financials, and Integrations.
• Apply software engineering best practices to Workday development.
• Analyze complex business and technical challenges and deliver scalable solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
• Contribute to technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap planning.
• Drive process improvements and optimize Workday capabilities.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate across teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled engineering tools.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Workday, including Core HCM, Financials, Integrations.
• Strong software engineering background.
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to solve and clearly communicate complex technical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and drive initiatives forward.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a Lead Workday Engineer or similar technical leadership role.
• Experience leading technical teams or large-scale initiatives.
• Experience defining and executing technical strategy.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development tools.
• Experience in a large, complex enterprise environment.
• Experience mentoring and developing technical talent.
